Gene died peacefully on 10 October 2019 aged 97. She was a devoted and much loved mother, grandmother and friend. She had been married to Mac, who predeceased her, for almost 65 years. A lifelong socialist she was politically active for 75 years but also did important voluntary work in Family Planning clinics, in local government and other spheres. Hers was a life well lived. For reasons of family, the work which Target Ovarian Cancer does was close to her heart.
